Smooth Paper is my favorite photographic paper producing a smooth matte finish.  Images are printed with 2 inch white border. 

 

Satin canvas has a woven texture with a satin semi-gloss finish. Your image will be printed 4 inches taller and 4 inches longer than the size selected allowing your picture framer to wrap it around a simple wood frame.  Depending on the image and size, the image will fill the entire expanded size or the 2" border will be a mirror image of each side.  This is an inexpensive, classy way to display artwork.  Only the canvas, not the frame, is included.

The story behind my image "Buena Vista Blooming Potatoes".

While it is true it may have only taken me a fraction of a second to take the picture, it was also true I had to travel to the location many, many times to find just the right conditions to produce the image I had in my mind. More profoundly, this is a story going back thousands of years. It goes back to the great glaciation covering most of the world's northern latitudes. Some 15,000 years ago, this glacier covered most of north-central and eastern Wisconsin, extending to just a few miles east of this field. What's essential to the story is glacial meltwater carried sediments into central Wisconsin, producing the sandy plains we see today. These plains are ideal for growing potatoes. This is just one small part of how glaciers formed the Wisconsin we know today.
